Kara DioGuardi And Ellen DeGeneres No Longer On American Idol

The reality has set in for “American Idol” supporters that Simon Cowell is not anymore a part of the show. The real fear now is that every person is abandoning ship. Ellen DeGeneres lately informed the planet that she will no longer carry out her duties as a judge on the well-known reality show. Now the Los Angeles Times reports that Kara DioGuardi has been given the boot. Randy Jackson may soon be joined by Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, however. ‘American Idol’ has an unclear future

Fox and the producers of the show think there’s still some magic left. Jennifer Lopez will allegedly bring the show muchos magicos as Kara DioGuardi’s replacement, says Deadline.com. Like Paula Abdul before her, Jennifer Lopez began her entertainment career as a dancer. Bringing Lopez back to Fox may remind some fans of her last stint on the network as a “Fly Girls” dancer on “In Living Color”.

‘AI’ is losing ground, but still popular

Sure, “Idol” is still one of the nation’s more watched programs, but a decrease in viewership has not gone unnoticed by the show’s producers. The Times writes that the “AI” team was close to giving Ellen DeGeneres the ax. Instead of firing her as they did DioGuardi, “Idol” producers allowed Ellen to walk out under her own power, so to speak. In a public statement, DeGeneres said that “A couple months ago, I let Fox and also the ‘American Idol’ producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me”. She knew what every person already knew from day one- that she was not comfortable giving singers musical advice.

Fox Networks Group chairman Peter Rice said in his own announcement that “We love Ellen and understand and support her decision to bow out of ‘Idol’”.

The chemistry needed an adjustment

“American Idol” Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe knew that Kara, Simon and Randy didn’t click without Paula Abdul. Throwing Ellen DeGeneres in to be a “nice” judge didn’t improve the mix at all. At one point, Lythgoe speculated that if he could have his pick of judges, he’d take Usher, Elton John and Paula Abdul. J. Lo and Steven Tyler have the most buzz.

Steven Tyler isn’t really talking

X17 Online apparently tracked down Steven Tyler outside the Sunset Marquis hotel in West Hollywood to ask for his take on “American Idol” judgeship rumors. It has been speculated that Tyler would play the Simon Cowell role, minus some cynicism. Tyler did not let on. Yet he also did not reject the possibility.
