Paramore Albums And The Best In Alternative Rock
The alternative rock band, Paramore, is just among the few musical groups to have risen fast in the music charts. This is since the band was formed just in 2004 and now with three Paramore albums to their name, and all are best selling albums, they have successfully made their marks in the music scene. And this is just the beginning with more to expect from them.
Paramore was started back in 2004 in the state of Tennessee in the United States. The band consists of the following members: Hayley Williams at the vocals, Zac Farro at the drums, Jeremy Davis at base, Josh Farro as the lead guitarist, and Taylor York with the rhythm guitar. As of this writing, Paramore has come up with three albums with each album a great success. A good proof of this is the continuous demand for the band’s band merch.
The Early Years of the Band
The brothers Josh and Zac Farro were attending a private school when they met Hayley. Their future vocalist was only 13 years old back then but she was already very much serious with her music. She as already writing songs and also taking singing lessons. Hayley and Jeremy Davis were playing together with a band called The Factory which was into funk rock. Soon afterward the four decided to form their own group. However, the guys were a bit apprehensive with the idea that a girl would be their frontman. They soon agreed because Hayley was writing most of the songs they were playing. Hayley’s songwriting skills soon gave rise to the unique sound of the band.
As to the band’s name, Paramore, it is said to have been the maiden name of the mother of one of their former band member. They liked the sound of it and especially when they learned that it is related to the word “paramour” which means “secret lover”. The band then decided to retain the name.
The Three Paramore Albums
The first album that showcased the Paramore music was the album All We Know Is Falling which was released on July 24, 2005. It reached No. 8 on the UK Rock Chart and No. 30 on the Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. There are now fans who are clamoring for original Paramore merch for them to buy and collect.
Just before the album was even released, Jeremy Davis had a change of heart and decided to leave the group. However, he was able to contribute on some of the songs and was even present in the recording of a few music videos for the album. But soon afterward, he realized he made a mistake and decided to come back.
Riot! was the title of the second of the Paramore albums. This album was released on June 12, 2007 and just after 12 months, it was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Ameria or the RIAA. Four hit singles emerged from it: “Hallelujah”, “Misery Business”, “Crushcrushcrush” and “That’s What You Get”.
Their latest album is Brand New Eyes which was released September 29, 2009 and is Paramore’s most successful album in terms of sales. On January 19, 2010 the RIAA already certified it as a gold record album.
The Paramore music is said to be a combination of alternative rock, funk, and pop. And with their continuous delving in creating their own songs and sound, we can expect more great music from Paramore.
Paramore- More than Just Pop Punk
There’s been a recent deluge in Paramore merch. That’s thanks largely to the band’s involvement in the hit teen movie, Twilight. The soundtrack for the movie feature’s the group’s Decode and I Caught Myself. For certain though, with the level of passion that the band pours into its work, its members would mostly likely take offense at being labeled merely as that band that played for Twilight.
The band’s music is mainly categorized as pop punk and emo. Unlike other famous punk acts like Avril Lavigne however, the band is almost decidedly moving against the grain of traditional punk. There is nothing of the formulaic, whiny, grating attitude that characterizes typical punk. The band’s music is altogether enthusiastic, deeply emotional and upfront.
The level of maturity of the group’s music is surprising considering that they can perhaps be regarded as kids on stage. Although the members have aged in the six years that they have been around, they started when they were barely teens. Before there were Paramore albums that sold like hotcakes, there were only these kids practicing in a garage. Lead vocalist Hayley Williams was only 14 and drummer Zac Farro was only 12 when the group first came together. They were joined by Josh Farro on lead guitars, Jeremy Davis on bass guitar and Jason Bynum on rhythm guitar. Although there was an initial hesitation over Williams’ gender, she has stayed on consistently as lead vocals.
The band first gave the public a taste of their own brand of music through their debut release All We Know is Falling in 2005. This was inspired by the emotional experience of Jeremy Davis leaving the group. Although this album is perhaps the closest to formulaic pop punk, it did not immediately lead to astounding success for the group. Davis eventually rejoined his band members after only a few months of being away. Jason Bynum was replaced by Hunter Lamb who also soon left to get married.
In 2007, the prospect of more Paramore albums rolling out became obvious. Riot! was released this year and saw a good start with its entry into the Billboard 200 at number 20. Although the album saw a modest start, it did reach platinum status in the US. With the exit of Lamb, rhythm guitar duties were performed by Taylor York. From then on, Paramore was clearly on an upward movement.
The group saw greater visibility and recognition in 2008 when they hit the February cover of Alternative Press after having been voted by readers as Best Band of 2007. On the same month, they received a nomination for Best New Artist in the Grammy Awards. By May 2008, the group had embarked on a tour called The Final Riot. Shortly after the end of the tour in September, two of their songs were released for Twilight. In September 2009, the group released Brand New Eyes which to date is the band’s most chart topping release.
There is no stopping the deluge of Paramore merchandise like music clothing. This is despite the rift rumors that have haunted and continue to haunt the group. Past rumored conflict revolved around the media’s focus on Hayley Williams. By all current appearances though, the group is as solid as platinum.
