Disney’s Hannah Montana TV show has becomes a phenomenal hit across the world.  One of the main reasons is that it depicts every teenage girls dream – fame, fortune, a normal life and performing on stage.

Miley Cyrus plays the leading character, Hannah Montana.  In the TV show she has dual identities.

By day, Miley Stewart is just a normal girl who hangs out with her friends and has all the joy and pain of teenage life.

However, when she dons her secret identity, she becomes music superstar Hannah Montana.  Hannah has the life teenage girls dream of with lots of glamour and excitement.  She has a glamorous lifestyle with lots of clothes, big showbiz parties and appearing on stage in front of her fans.

The Hannah Montana TV series shows how she balances and manages her two lives with often amusing consequences.  It shows her hiding her identity from the public with the help of her best friends whilst trying to live a normal life and get dates.  One particularly amusing incident is where she is taken on a date to one of her own concerts by a boy she really likes! 

The TV show was co-created by three people.  Michael Poryes, creator of “That’s So Raven”, Barry O’Brien, who worked on “CSI:Miami”, and Richard Correll who worked on “The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody” and “That’s So Raven”.

Miley Cyrus originally auditioned for the role of Lilly Truscott (originally Lilly Romero) and was turned down.  She won the part of Hannah Montana when she was called back by the shows producers.

Miley Stewart’s best friend, Lilly Truscott, is played by Emily Osment who appeared in Spy Kids 2 and 3.  Lilly’s alter ego is Hannah Montana’s best friend, Lola Luftnagle.This allows her to go with Hannah on her glamorous exploits.

Mitchel Musso is Oliver Oken, Miley’s other best friend in the show.  He too has an alter ego as Michael Standley III so all three friends can join in Hannah’s glitzy world.

Oddly enough, Miley’s dad (Robbie Stewart) is played by her real life dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.  He attempts to ensure she lives a normal life whilst helping to keep her identity secret.

Jason Earles plays Miley’s older brother Jackson in the TV show.  Jason was in “National Treasure” as the stable boy who knew the secret of the Knights Templar treasure.

Miley Cyrus has been catapulted to superstardom because of the success of the TV show.With spin off movies, a documentary called “Hannah Montana And Miley Cyrus : Best Of Both Worlds Concert” and albums, she has become very well known.

Many of the Hannah Montana song lyrics are hugely popular and the kids love Hannah Montana songs so much.

Because the TV series depicts the dream of many a young girl it Qhas created a strong following of girls aged from as young as five or six onwards.  Many parents secretly enjoy Hannah Montana not only for keeping their children quiet, but for her amusing antics and good music.  Currently on its third series, we can only hope that Hannah Montana keeps going and keeps us all entertained.
