The movie Moneyball based on Billy Bean’s transofrmation of the Oakland Athletics will probably become an award winner.There was even a very well received comedy from the Saturday Night Live people called Bridesmaids.A few of my close friends really loved the movie Drive.I have issues with Drive but I do recognize it as a good film.

My personal favorite films this year have been the George Clooney directed film Ides Of March. I admit that he is my favorite and I was very impressed with his directing ability.I was surprised to see in the credits that he wrote the script. But I later learned that he just adapted it from an off Broadway play.Incredible acting. My top pick for 2011 is The Company Men. It was written by the creator of the west wing and deals with the financial melt down.Another film that made the top of my list which was missed by most people.Had lackluster box office receipts is called Midnight In Paris.This was an original film by Woody Allen.{He didn’t act in the movie and it was very unique. While he didn’t appear on screen the Owen Wilson character acted as the typical neurotic character.}I might label it a dark comedy but it is not really your typical comedy just because Woody Allen did it.I recommend Midnight in Paris if you want to see a totally unique film. Maybe the video film schools will get us some new film makers who create unique products.
