Help With Choosing a Plasma TV Stand

Buying a Plasma TV Stand is more than just simply a case of getting a device to accommodate the TV, it will become part of the room’s décor.  In this respect because of their size and presence, with most plasma TV’s being over 32 inches in width, they really become part of the furniture.

Choosing the Right Plasma TV Stand

(i) Colour

This is one of the most important elements you need to consider when purchasing a Plasma TV stand.  It goes without saying you should choose a stand that fits in with the style of set you bought as well as the room in which the stand will go.  The most prominent colours for Plasma TV Stands are black or metallic grey.

(ii) Size

Size is also an important factor to consider.  You might want to allow for a slightly bigger stand should you need to upgrade to a larger set.  If you do upgrade (and remember prices are falling sharply) then you don’t want the added financial burden of having to fork out for another stand.

(iii) Style

Choose a style that matches the set and the room’s decor. If you have a traditional room with traditional furnishings, you might want to choose a stand that matches that.

(iv) Weight

The weight that the stand can withstand is crucial – although most sets are very light compared to older widescreen TV’s, you should still ensure that the stand can take the weight of the set.  Check the instruction manual to see what your set weighs.

(v) Price

Price may end up being the overriding factor for those looking for a Plasma TV Stand.  This is quite understandable given that Plasma TV’s have come down in price substantially over the last few years, practically 50%.  This considered, it is not worth blowing hundreds of pounds on a TV stand when the set itself only cost three of four hundred pounds.
