It seems the cable companies have become fat and greedy as time goes by. I remember when cable TV first came along. It was relatively inexpensive back then and the improvement over broadcast TV was dramatic. Not only that, but the large number of channels coming and perfectly clearly seemed amazing.

However, once the cable TV companies had everybody hooked up, they began raising their fees relentlessly until people are finding themselves paying $100, $150, $200 or more each and every month.

I think we could all use a little extra money these days. It seems silly to keep paying the cable companies when you can enjoy even better service for free once you install the necessary software. It definitely makes sense to at least investigate the idea of satellite direct television.
