However, many of the Top Selling Christmas Songs for 2010 will probably be the ones that you have come to know and love through the years, the Christmas songs for kids that have withstood the test of time.
In this write-up, I am going to tell you my picks for the top 10 classic Christmas songs.
Leading off the group is Nat King Cole. Taken from what I consider to be certainly one of the best Xmas Albums of all time, “The Christmas Song” isn’t only the album title but the name of the song. Originally recorded in 1946, this song is still certainly one of the top selling Christmas songs available on the market.
The Vince Guaraldi Trio comes in at number 2 on our Christmas songs list. The name may not be familiar to you but their songs certain are. This song, choice #2, is known as “Christmastime is Here”. Does it not ring a bell? How about if I tell you that it comes from the album titled “A Charlie Brown Christmas”? Launched in 1965, this song continues to be a holiday top seller.
Can chipmunks do Christmas? Without a doubt they could. “The Chipmunk Song” is rated # 3 of the all time classic Christmas songs.
Bing Crosby comes in at number 4 with “White Christmas”. Launched way back in 1945, this song is the essence of Christmas. It comes from the album of the exact same name and stays the best selling Christmas album of all time.
Eartha Kitt enters the list at number five with her interpretation of “Santa Baby”. Launched in 1953, the melody harkens back to a day when a slow provocative beat, blended with a great feminine voice, made for intoxicating music. In “Santa Baby”, Eartha Kitt, as the voice of all ladies, asks for probably the most expensive gifts using all her feminine wiles. Women of all ages, play this song for the men this Christmas and also you will obtain each and every present your heart wants!
At #6, we have Dean Martin singing “Baby, It is Cold Outside”. The lovable Dean Martin is somebody that belongs in each and every Christmas collection. Pour yourself a stiff eggnog and listen to Dean Martin for the Holidays.
A Christmas cannot be spent without the Christmas hymns of Andy Williams. At #7, we have “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”. Composed and performed in 1963, this song has become a Christmas staple. How suitable simply because Christmas is truly “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”.
The “Twelve Days of Christmas” presented by Ray Conniff & The Ray Conniff Singers is number 8 on the list of the top classic Xmas songs. We all know this one and it is best suited in each and every selection.
A somewhat new entry on the checklist is Amy Grant. She is at #9 with her recording of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. Needless to say, this melody has been performed by a huge selection of singers but her rendition outshines all.
And what would a Christmas list be without Elvis Presley? His recording of “Blue Christmas” belongs in everyones selection.
Well, I was restricted to 10 choices for this write-up and these are the songs that make my top 10 classic Christmas songs list.
